Moti Dhaaga

Moti Dhaaga is a boutique that creates Indian ethnic wear inspired by nature and traditional craft. The founder has been working in this space for over 25 years, carefully designing and hand-finishing each piece with great attention to detail. From beaded borders to hand-stitched motifs, every garment is made with love and a deep respect for Indian textiles, patterns, and heritage. The name ‘Moti Dhaaga’ meaning ‘pearl and thread’ captures the heart of the brand: something delicate, thoughtful, and timeless.

When Moti Dhaaga came to WAFOTU for branding, they wanted something that felt true to how they work; quiet, detailed, and connected to nature. We designed a logo that brings all these ideas together. It’s shaped like a flower, but it also looks like a shell holding a pearl, a nod to the name. The leaves and stem form the letter “M,” making the whole mark feel natural and personal. Just like their clothes, the identity is simple but full of meaning.

The packaging for Moti Dhaaga blends traditional elements with a clean, modern presentation, designed to reflect the brand’s thoughtful craftsmanship. The fabric tote bag, made in the brand’s signature colour and marked with its logo, serves as a reusable, elegant alternative to disposable packaging. The system includes branded stationery; envelopes, files, notebooks, and pens with special attention given to the visiting card and the clothing tag.

The tag itself is shaped with fully rounded top and bottom edges, a subtle reference to traditional Indian arches, adding character while staying minimal. A custom wrapping paper, printed in a delicate repeat of the logo mark, completes the experience layering the packaging with a sense of care, coherence, and cultural depth.
